Royal Heights Motorway

Heard that the narrow infrastructure road which has many 90% corners on very steep inclines is being used as a motorway to transmit Shuttle travelling people and cars from many parts of the Bodrum peninsula to the Royal Heights ammenity and beach area. If true this makes a mockery of security control of RH and road safety---- my informant has told me that an accident has already happened involving a shuttle Bus----- any comment from Royal Heights owners? -- Kate

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Sorry, should have written "many right angled corners " not 90% corners " in my last post -- Kate

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Kate I've been here for 3 weeks now and haven't heard anything like that. In fact the beach area looks very quiet anytime I've been wandering up to the sunset. We've just been discussing taking a drive down to the beach area to have a closer look. Will let you know whether it looks busy or not.

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Kate RH looks fine. Didn't see evidence of loads of outsiders. The road to Artev is definately not busy. Relax it all looks fine.

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Hi Kate

We own on Lakeside and were there 3 weeks ago. I cant see how "people from all over the peninsula" are being allowed in to Royal Heights as to enter the resort/beach club you have to arrive on the Artev shuttlebus (which only picks up owners/guests from within the other Artev resorts Lakeside/Turquoise/Flamingo) or if you drive yourself (which we did) you have to show a pass (given to us at Lakeside so you can enter/leave without security stopping and checking you everytime). I guess the other resorts Turquiose/Flamingo operate a system similar to this - but someone could confirm this..
The beach club was great especially the Turkish bath/relaxing area and we ate lunch at the restaurant one day and dinner another day - both meals were very good and whilst not cheap - you get what you pay for and service was great and the views fantastic.
The beach club was quiet when we were there but it had just opened but the people we spoke to whilst we were there, were all very happy with the facilities.
I am sure you will love it. We are looking forward to going back in 6 weeks time...
Nina

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Sat opp Royal Heights yesterday and the beach area was quite busy in the day the mono rail was ferrying people from other complexes via artev flamingo etc down to the beach area.
We did not go on to Royal heights but viewed it from friends on another site. They have a disco going and a light a spot light that shines around into the sky.

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Just back after spending 17 days on Royal Heights, Yes, the buses go up and down the site every 30mins and people from the other sites are using them . The beach is busy at times but there is plenty of beds for everyone. the pools are being used as well. There does not seem to be any issues about security as people are not walking through or near the dwellings and there is a foot patrol at night, we ran into them on our way home several times. The restaurant is busy and is now taking bookings. We enjoyed the holiday and the facilities and can't wait to get back in October.

Re: Royal Heights Motorway

Christopher,
Glad you enjoyed your visit to RH. Here's a few questions for you to answer please-----Is the music at the beach area too loud----- a friend of mine reported that on numerous occasions she had to ask the staff in the pontoon bar to turn down the volume as the noise was driving her mad. and from the disco at night??? In May the noise from the bar beside the restaurant from early morning till late was far too loud but thankfully following a request the volume was reduced and more suitable background music was played . Apparently there is now live music at night in this bar---- does this create a good atmosphere when you are having a meal? or does it have the opposite effect?
and lastly are both sections of the cable car working again ? I sincerly hope they are as I am way past my sell by date for struggling up steep inclines.

Maybe my obsessive dislike of piped heavy metal music in public places, even banks ( the last time I was at the doctors I was blasted out of the waiting room with the noise ) is a sign that there is a massive generation gap between myself and the younger people! Anyway I can bring a set of ear plugs with me on my next visit if your report is bad.
Hope to meet you some time ----will be there for 3 weeks end of Sept, early october---- Kate
