Airline Regulations re laptops

Hi everyone,

I have been told that the strict regulations flying from Turkey have been relaxed. Specifically that you can now take tablets/e-readers in hand luggage. Is this correct as we are flying out next week and I would like to take my e-reader on the flight home.
Many thanks in advance - Jenny

Re: Airline Regulations

All seems ok, just have the device handy for inspection at the gate. We flew out yesterday from Dalaman with laptop, kindle and tablet in hand luggage.

Re: Airline Regulations

Yes I can confirm that tablets are allowed on flights leaving Turkey. I flew from Dalaman to Gatwick a few weeks ago and there was no issue.

Re: Airline Regulations

Easy jet have a new thing - you can place your cabin luggage in the hold for 4.00 a piece (it used to be free) nonetheless it is a great relief to be able to go through security withou so much hassle. Also we we probably pack a couple of wine boxes in them next time. It's a shame we have to pay but a lot of passengers were using this facility and no doubt prices will rise soon as its a nice little earner for the airlines plus the hold racks are much less full on the aircraft. A good idea & we will definitely be using it again.

Re: Airline Regulations re laptops

Re. The above - they also claim that your cabin luggage when put in the hold will have priority when luggage leaves the plane & will be the first to come along the carousel - which 90 percent of them did.

Sadly, if you have ever watched them load luggage you would never put anything "delicate" into hold luggage.

Yes, I always carry my prescription pills with me just in case our luggage goes missing. It's OK for a spot of bacon & the odd sausage ! Will def. try it next time !

Re: Airline Regulations re laptops

We flew from Antalya on 7th October. Some people had packed their i pads etc then had to get them out. We were also drug tested at the gate. In fact they tried to test everyone. It took ages. They unpacked hand luggage and swabbed the case and items. They swabbed swabbed everything including feet hands etc. Friends flew this weekend and had the same thing happen to them. Just to make people aware to not get to the gate too late! The flight was to Gatwick.
