setting up digiturk dish
Last min. I know, but now we have sold our gaff, we are in temp accomm (3 weeks)till moving to 'self build headquarters'. I want to put my digiturk dish up tomorrow, no point in the engineers for 3 weeks or I will have to keep changing the registered address, but know absolutely nothing on which general direction to kick it off, and what angle. any ideas, albeit last minute. Otherwise I will get up at 6am, and may have it running by 6pm.
(yeah I know some of you would enjoy the thought of me swearing non stop for 12 hours and getting a sweat on) but really any help will be treasured because if I have not got it set up for Eastenders tomorrow night, I'm for the chop!! + Istanbul F1 on sun.

Re: setting up digiturk dish

Re: setting up digiturk dish
That might get me in the right general direction. None of the neighbours have digiturk, only the free Turkish stuff, I tried looking yesterday.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
Hi No-nem
These are the Digiturk broadcast details from Lyngsat
DigiTurk on Eutelsat W3A at 7.0°E
Don't know if this means anything to you but it was enough for our satellite bloke in England when we took our box back with us once. Thinking about ours at home i think it is pointed sort of south-west -ish lol.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
Thanks again for that, it kinda makes sense, and all configurations will be written down and tested. Thanks.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
When we had trouble with our signal a couple of years ago my husband went of roof and I went into opts then menu....installation... advanced installation...... point antenna and as he moved dish it say bad or good.
Takes a little while but saves calling then out.
A lot of shouting to each other.
Hope this helps.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
Yes I reckon there will be a fair bit of shouting tomorrow between the two of us on different floors, probably ending in the eveningwith 'oh b******s' wheres the beer!!
My mate has just phoned me and suggested I take portable telly up to balcony with Digibox and sit and get aerial right whilst supping beer. What a sensible lad, and glad I have friends like that to state what should have been to me the 'b******g obvious!! Cheers Mate.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
Basic digiturk even for occassional use I would say, but nonetheless someone will come up with a mathmatical equation for you using 8 dishes, tuning fork, compass, some kind of digibox that you can get for 10 bob in Lidls, and a secret card that is registered by a guy called Reg at a farmhouse in the Orkneys and who will tell you, you need to contact the Mongolian Embassy in Peckham for a new code no. This system can then be installed for 4 grand, which will represent very good value as you can get the Muppets in Chinese. LOL. happy hunting.

Re: setting up digiturk dish
Thats right we have digiturk, and in the end I got the engineers to fix it up. Thats why I reccommend them and not other configurations as the description above.
