42"Ambilight Plasma TV

Yes after 23 working days it finally arrived, 8 working days late. Philps don't
hang about do they? when they say it will arrive on time it will, (crap).

Well iv'e unpacked it and it looks very nice but there's no way i can lift it out of the box, so rather than sit about waiting for my mate to give me a hand with it i decided i might as well put the bracket on the wall, and yes youv'e guessed it "no bracket".
Off i twaddled to Curry's taking £100 in cash to unexpectedly pay for it, yes sir we have them in stock, just the 1 is it ? "bloody idiot why would i need 2 or more", i muttered under my breath. He beckoned me to the screen displaying them, you got to be joking i said "£199-99p yes sir he said, "i wanted to swear but knew it was wrong after all he was only doing his job".
Thanks i told him but i'll see if i can get one a little cheaper on the internet.

Back home logged on the Curry's, Comet & Bigmaggot all the same price, so i
typed in Wall Brackets on the off chance, only to find a whole website dedicated to wall brackets. They wanted to know the model and product number, and they found one thats universal which just so happened to be the same as Currys were going to sell me, but £120 cheaper at £79.

So the moral of the story is, look about don't always go for the first item that comes along. If you have the time, get on the computer and do a search and if you can't get some-one to do it for you.

My Mother bought a Conservatory last year and paid £10,000 for it from some-one that cold called her, i done a search and found the same one for £6500 with VAT & labour included but it was too late, she's 82 and could'nt really afford it and didn't like to ask the family for help, "she's to independant"
and maybe we'll all be like that when we're in the Autunm of our lives.

Whenever I go into Currys I look at all the new TV's on display and believe it or not the one I would pick to buy is the same one as you Andy!!

Brilliant screen and I like the idea of the ambilight. The only problem is we have two relatively new 'old style TV's' and cann't really justify to my better half why we should get rid of them and replace with a Phillips Ambilight!

The new Plasma cost £325 as a good will gesture from Philips due to my previous one going wrong even though it was 4 years old.
New ones in Curry's are around the £1200 - £1500 mark, i didn't have the cheek to ask for a bracket as well, although i expected one to be supplied.
