Buying a tv
Hi, we are new to this site and was hoping you nice people could help us out :-)
We has just recieved the news that the sale to our house and all paperwork is complete FINALLY (it has only took 3 years....yes 3 years) AND SO we will be over at the end of this month and my Da thinks that one of the main prioritys should be the buying of a tv, you gotta love him, and our question is this.....can we just go into a shop/supermarket ect and just pick one off the shelf and pay to go or do we have to provide any documentation such as the papers for the house etc? Because in England you have to fill in that little form or put you name and address into a computer so the tv licencing people can check you have paid them your money to use it, but as the BBC do not have a monopoly on things in Turkey can we just walk into Kipa or alternative and buy a nice tv straight away with no hastle. we have never bothered before now but as it is finally our's we plan to spend a lot more time out there then just a few weeks now and again, and finally make it a home.
Sorry to go on a bit bit I have a lot going around in my head to try and get things in order before we come over in 15 DAYS AND COUNTING :-) :-)
Thanks in advance

Re: Buying a tv
Just pay and take away. No paperwork to bother with.

Re: Buying a tv
hi tv buyer, you can buy a tv anywhere and either have it delivered or take it with you if you have a car, but beware of guarantee's as they tend to be worthless out here and they always find a reason not to replace things and you have to do the running around to find repair shops and service shops in the area. dont buy extended guarantee's they dont exsist, your better off buying a cheap and cheerful tv and if it lasts a year great, when it breaks down get a new one. good luck with your move.

Better buy from Beko or Arcelik then, you will get a guarantee and the will also deliver the set and connect it up and tune it in for you.

Re: Buying a tv
Hi
Congrats on completing, you must be relieved!
I bought a 32 in flat screen tv on Monday from Vestal (like arcelik or beko). It got delivered that day and the service guy wired it up to the x box I'd taken over. Got a stamped guarantee (I'll let you know if it's worth anything later!). Also got a discount for cash.
The remote didn't work and they changed it the same day. I didn't get digiturk or anything so only for dvd's and x box at present.
No papers required. Just your money lol
ps I only went in for a portable but my dad put my money where his mouth his (truely he cost me a packet last week - and he was meant to be there to help me!)

Re: Buying a tv
Do you mind saying how much the 32 in cost you as I will be looking to purchase one later in the year.
Thanks

Re: Buying a tv
The one I bought was 1200 lira (£489 ish) which included delivery and set up. Perhaps they can be got cheaper (not sure - I didn't get chance to shop around with my dad nipping my ears!)
Curry's lowest price in the UK for 32 in is £449.

Re: Buying a tv
That sounds a really good price from Vestel, we looked for flat screen but they were a lot more than that, isnt there something with the pixels the more you have the better the picture.
Hope you dont mind me asking but what was the name on yours and is the picture good as we fly out tomorrow and we will be looking for TV we will pay vestel a call as there is a shop in Altinkum.
