Large lcd tv
I was in Migros in Altinkum in May and was very impressed with the TVs. It looked like you could pick up a Samsung 42inch for £700 approx. Does anybody know of anybody that would wall mount one of these TVs or if there are better deals to be had elsewhere in the Altinkum area.

Re: Large lcd tv
We got a 32inch lcd tv in Dalaman in the Arcelik shop just along from Migros, great service and they were going to wall mount it but we decided against it as it was going to be situated under the air con, and the two young lads who delivered it couldn't speak a word of english but it was them who said they were not happy to put it under the air con.(sign language was all we needed to know they were not happy to do it) The cost was £400 which i thought was pretty good.

£700 is a good price, I bought mine a year ago Samsung 42", in Scotland for £699, reduced from £900 n still going strong, one of the best models.

Blimey Peter, you sound pleasantly surprised it's still going after a year!

Re: Large lcd tv
Hi Martyn
I find that a lot of items are not what they were say 30/40 yrs ago, i.e. we bought a washing machine few years back, packed it in after 2yrs.
Look at cars now, I leant against the side of my wee Renault Clio and it buckled in.
Re Samsung tele,s though, I bought a second hand one from a TV repair guy, bout 32 yrs ago for £30, and it lasted 15 yrs, only got rid of it because it was dated, gave it to a neighbour across the street, hence the reason I chose Samsung. (got my fingers crossed whilst talking bout it)
Cheers Peter

Re: Large lcd tv
You're right Peter, we have had fridge/freezers etc that lasted for years but we are now in a throw away society and things aren't built to last. I think that you are looking at 3 years for most items with a max. of around 5 years. The other thing is that items aren't built for repair, it's more cost effective to replace.
