Re: satellite tv questions answered by just sat
hello bez,
normally 2 dishes 1 is for turksat which in the evening will give you cnbc-e which will give you american sitcoms etc. in english in the evenings with turkish subtitles and the other one is normally hotbird.
you can realign the hotbird dish on to nilesat and have films, sitcoms etc. in english but you will have arabic subtitles.
or you can re tune your receiver on hotbird to the frequency 11116 vertical - symbol rate 27500 - fec 3/4 where you can watch bbc prime in the clear without subscription at this moment.
hope this helps
regards,
gary

Re: satellite tv questions answered by just sat
Hi Gary, is it possible to pick up the Astra satellite's at 19.2° East ?
I am not sure if the footprint covers Turkey or what size of dish is needed.
I am just interested in getting Sky news that is broadcast FTA.
Cheers
Allan

Hi Pete, to receive ITV in Turkey you will need a sky satellite receiver
and a 3 meter satellite dish as the signal is very weak as it is beamed towards the UK. I'm not sure of the cost but I wouldn't bother if you only want to watch
X Factor

You could group up with others in the same apartment block and have a communal dish sharing system which is known here in the Uk as an IRS, though installing a 3 mtr dish may be a problem and not all may want it. This is my job but would not fancy handling a 3 mtr dish on the roof. The other option is to get someone to tape it for you. lol

Well not just X factor lol All the film channels and stuff,
Not in apartment would go for villa and am thinking for them winter evenings.
Cost is not the prime concern , so how much to get it installed ?

Re: satellite tv questions answered by just sat
My dad is about to move to Cyprus and he needs a 3 meter dish to get Sky tv. I can let you know how much it costs him when he gets it done.. Could be 2-3 months though. The house next to mine is for sale( Well it was July) so buy it and then we can go halfs on a 3 meter dish Pete, lol.
