Wink Changing money up in Turkey at weekends....

I know I have already mentioned this before.

I have been asked by someone living here to change up a relatively large sum of money from Sterling into TL today.

Today is Sunday. Banks are closed.

Why anyone changes money over the weekend is beyond me.

Whoever changes money when the banks are closed will always lower the rate considerably to compensate for any changes that may become apparent when business starts at the Banks on the following Monday.

Just dont do it.

Merv!

Re: Changing money up in Turkey at weekends....

Hi Merv

Found that out last year when I had to get my deposit out for my villa , had to get it from ATM points over the weekend because I was flying back on the Monday morning, Lost about 250 by doing it at the weekend.
