Our new villa rental site
Hi, I have spent the past few weeks knocking up a web site for our place in Akbuk which we hope to book out for a few weeks next year.
The site can be accessed through my profile or here www.akbukvilla.co.uk
Please can you give it the once-over and give me your honest opinions, and please be as critical as you like. You won't offend me, honest!!
Any comments would be great. Is there too much waffle? too many images? any factual inaccuracies? spelling/grammatical mistakes? anything not working or showing up?
Thanking you in advance
GarryP

Re: Our new villa rental site
Garry, loved your site. I didnt spot any typos or anything. I think it is very nice. well planned and thought out.
Once you have had some renters, I would have a testimonial page.
I didnt notice, did you have anything with local restaurants on it?
what kind of activities are there for children? is there an aquapark in the area? if there is, be sure to mention it.
Good luck Garry, If I run into anyone looking for a rental in Akbuk, I will certainl steer them in your direction.
Be sure to network yourself, prompte your villa to friends, family, co-workers, friends of friends etc., print out some brochures, leave them in your pub, church, union hall etc., you get my drift.......
Let me know how it goes for you.
cheers!!!

Re: Our new villa rental site
well done
it is an attractive site with lots of pictures and easy to navigate and everything worked -no deadend links.
there are some minor typos in the text but those are easy to put right
the things I might like to know about when taking family to a villa are cooking facilities (oven microwave) and laundry facilities and linen / towels etc. - I didn't spot that detail.
I do like that there is lots about things to do around and about.
good luck with the rentals
Gill

Re: Our new villa rental site
It is a very good page, nicely set up and very easy to navigate, clear and consise. the only problem I had was the "click on image to enlarge" it didn't work, but that may be me!
I cant help with the techy bits I am sure someone will be along to help. But well done

Re: Our new villa rental site
I would like to thank everyone for their comments, very much appreciated.
I am indebted to Gail who gave me inspiration from her own web site (access through Gails profile) for her villa in the Bay of Turgutreis.
Our site is not exactly a carbon copy but uses the same web navigation bar, which I liked the look off, tracked down the supplier and bought their web software package.
Yep thanks for the wonderful comments, I noticed the email link didn't work and having done a bit of investigation, it is notoriously unreliable so have done away with it (thanks for that Juco).
Also thanks to Lorraine for her comment, again the 'click to enlarge' link is also difficult to sort out. It works fine on my work computer but at home its a bit tempermental so I still need to sort that one out.
Anyhow, having a web site up and running counts for nothing, the hard work in trying to secure rentals for next year is only just beginning. Given the billions of pages on the web, there is no way to ensure anyone will ever find my site. Google sponsored adwords might be worth investing in and perhaps invest in one or two of the bigger rental agencies on the web, and also take advantage of mushtaqs offer to list the property on his crescent rental site for free (Nice one Mushtaq)!!
Bez and Chris, if you want to discuss idea's on the design of your site, then please send us a note sometime.
Regards
GarryP
