Moved into White Rock
Well, I was so excited, been waiting for 16th April to arrive. Plane touched down, we first went into Dalaman to buy some groceries, then up the mountain to our new home at White Rock. Opened the front door, thought he might have carried me over the threshold, but no, knew I should have not put on that weight. Fridge had not been connected, cupboard in the way so we could'nt plug it in, oven and hob not working, then the electric went, and no signal on mobile up there, Leak in pool house. Sat in dark and nibbled bread. Next day went to office, everything was sorted very quickly, just wished it had been checked before we arrived. Thank you to Metin and Theo for there help. It is very beautiful down in the revine at the bottom of our garden, with a couple of restaurant/cafe being built, but still retaining its natural beauty. Being the first to move in had its advantages 'skinny dipping' in our pool, the first and last as the next time we are there we will have neighbours!

Re: Moved into White Rock
Hi Carolyn and Jim
very very pleased for you. Yes our trip back in October we sumed up with the phrase "posh camping" for the first couple of days. As and when each facility starts to work ie gas, electric, then Enersi switch you are so much more grateful than you would have been initially as we take it all for granted here in UK.
So glad you are happy the views sounds great.
Now someone at this point is going to correlate the above sentence with the pool dip but that is not meant!
rshame we missed you by a day. we flew back on 16th you arrived.
Anyway regards and best wishes.

Re: Moved into White Rock
Carolyn, good to hear you are in. We are thinking of buying at Lakeside, but is still undecided. Do you think this is a good move? Are these villa progressing well? We have heard rumours about planning & build permission not been given. What is the reality?
Once again, congratulations!

Re: Moved into White Rock
Hello Abigail
We are one of five houses built at White Rock and are in touch with all of our neighbours. One of our neighbours has contacted a Solicitor and it is as you say a rumour, everything is in place, permission has been granted, the tapu's are taking a bit longer to appear, this is due to the higher increase of houses being sold in the Dalaman area and this has caused a back log.
We looked at properties in different area's of Southern Turkey, but with the plans for Dalaman we decided to have a look, I liked the idea that Dalaman had not been changed by us English, lets hope it retains some of this after the changes that will be taking place! The ride up the mountain was rather bumpy, but as soon as I got out of the car and saw the development and felt the peace of the mountain, I just fell in love with the place.
Good luck with your hunting, let me know when you have decided.
Carolyn

Carolyn,
Thanks for the response. It is good to hear things are in place. Will let you know if we do buy in the area. Enjoy White Rock!
