Re: White Rock or not?
Hi Chinar & Glenda, we have actually bought at Lakeside. We haven't seen the finished product yet but the feedback from people that have everything seems to be good. when we first went out there we were met at the airport and taken to an hotel, we nicknamed it BATES MOTEL cos it was right out of the film PHSYCO. We were picked up the next morning to go to the office and told them we were not happy with the accomodation. Right there and then we were driven back to BATES MOTEL to collect our stuff and taken to another hotel which was great, no problem, no big deal to them which i thought was good. We were driven around anywhere we wanted to go and not just for the first day, but for all four days that we were there. We were never pressurised at any time. When we went to Turkey last year on holiday {independently} they again gave us the use of a driver to go and see the site as many times as we wished. Also we were driven to the Waterfall restaurant which is beautiful and had great food and then taken back to our hotel. They have also kept in touch by email, ie. sending pictures monthly and generally keeping us updated. On the whole i think they have been very good. Unfortunatley, we couldn't afford Whiterock so Lakeside has to be our little bit of paradise, which i am sure we will enjoy none the less. You do take a chance when parting with all the money you have got especially in a foreign country, but what the heck it's only money, as long as you have your health and you are happy with life then i say go for it. Good luck with your house hunting, all the best and take care, maybe see you up there sometime

Re: White Rock or not?
Hi Paul and Debbie,
I am shocked re your comment about carpentry skills! Our kitchen etc was so good we drew our own designs for the carpenter to make extra matching items. All of these were made to our rudimentary drawings exactly right. Each visit infact the carpenter has "fitted us in" and made up some extra bits superbly. We chose it to match the kitchen and it is all mdf, not solid wood, but go see and make up your own mind. Chinar and Glenda, If you want to see round ours at Olivium pm me and I'll contact the office and arrange it.
As to snags yes we have had some, quite a few, and a LOT of cleaning, the worst was a problem with our marble. Name one new build that hasn't, had snags? ! The bottom line is they have corrected almost all of them and especially the marble! Looks great now. What more can you ask when buying in a foreign country. Trust them and be patient.
Debbie

Re: White Rock or not?
Hi everyone! I must say we are overwhelmed by how helpful and friendly a bunch we have discovered at the Dalaman Forum. Thank you all for the offers of help and information. We are looking forward to seeing the Whiterock for ourselves and finding a place of our own out there. Inshallah!
All the best.

Re: White Rock or not?
Hi Debbie,
I can only comment on our own kitchen. The finishing was appalling and we actually condemned the kitchen. On our first day in the villa, 2 doors fell apart. Consequently we never had them make any further items, we will be visiting Ikea to purchase the wardrobes etc.

Re: White Rock or not?
Hi Paul,
The carpenters that we had were excellent & i am a joiner to trade. In fact like Debbie we got them to do a lot of extra work for our house as we were so happy, but like you say i can only comment on the service we received. I do think it will be a few years before White Rock is all completed but im sure when it is it will be perfect, we have seen a massive difference in the last year alone. Maybe see you down at the restaurant for an Efes over the summer if you are their.

Re: White Rock or not?
Hi Scotgus,
It seems we were just unlucky with our kitchen and perhaps a second chance is in order. Thinking back, the finishing on our villa was rushed as I think Lakeside was behind schedule and all hands were there.
I must emphasize that we are delighted with our villa and overall Curbanoglu have been great, even if their after sales department appears under staffed, although their newest recruitment Zeliha always replies to emails promptly and deals with requests efficiently.
We are out for the last 2 weeks of August, so, hopefully see you then
Paul
