Help with Curtains

Hi All,
We are coming out to Akkaya for 3 weeks on Fri 2nd July to furnish our place and would really appreciate any recommendations on where or who to go to for curtains. I am sure I have read on the forum somewhere about a man a few of you have used but I cant find it anywhere. We dont want anything ornate just plain ordinary curtains, no swags or pelments but we do need them making ASAP as we will be waking up very early with no curtains at the windows!
Awaiting your valuable information - I have so far been able to make a file with all the previous information and comments you have all provided me with.
Thankyou in advance,
Sally

Re: Help with Curtains

Hi Broom
We are also from Akkaya and we used a curtain shop in Ortaca recommended to us by Metin. We went to the shop and picked the curtain rails that we wanted put up. They installed silver blinds in the kitchen. I brought most of my curtains over with me from Ikea as I couldn't find what I wanted in Dalaman. I think my neighbours used the same curtain shop too.

Re: Help with Curtains

Thanks ,
Does anyone know the name of this shop or can anyone give me directions? I am sure this is the one I have read about before on the forum I just cant find the thread for it anywhere. It is owned by 2 brothers and people have previously had problems with the e-mail address for them? Thanks

Re: Help with Curtains

I think most people used that shop as they are so good. The shop is called Oz Site Mefrusat in Ortaca. There is a left turn before the roundabout in Ortaca (the one that takes you to the bus station),coming from the Dalaman direction, which has a big blue Bellona sign. Turn left there and the shop is about 200 metres down on the right just before Bellona which is on the left. The brother we dealt with is called Sami and is very helpful. Good luck.

Re: Help with Curtains

also a nice family run place called guzel perde in centrum ortaca...shop is on a corner..its also connected to Bağlar Ticaret which sells household items/furniture cheaply and is on the road that goes to Dalyan from Ortaca just as your leave Ortaca.
guzel perde is on a side road in the real thick of it in cetrum -come off main mugla road, past bus garage area -turn into the road which has deniz bank on the corner and its 3/4 way down opposite some posh clothes stores.
they can sell you the fabric per mt. if you want and you make things yourself....
if you ever need any help PM us and we can see if we can help intorduce you/your idea/needs..the man has a stutter but hes very nice and will shift on price and the fabric is quality but cheaper than anywhere else we looked and by god we looked. he can order anything he doesnt have in store within a week.
he did us proud with what we found fabric wise so we are happy to promote the shop.
dont have the card to hand but it i find it will post more info.
dont mistake it for the other shop on that road further up....
im pretty sure ours is called guzel perde..and deffo look to the corner of this road/side street for it.
