What's that Bug

Do you come across strange insects and creepy crawlies and wonder what they are? Well there’s a site on the internet that can help you to identify such things.

Love ‘em or loath ‘em insects are part of our complex eco system and the Mediterranean region supports a wide range of them.

However, if you are new to the area you’ll probably come across weird and wonderful insects that you’ve never seen before either in the garden, when you’re out and about or maybe even in your home.

For those of you who would rather observe the visitors than dispatch them with your shoe or rolled up newspaper there’s a great resource to help you identify the unknown on-line.

‘What’s That Bug’ is a website that contains a massive database of pictures and descriptions of many of the world’s insects and the like

Looks like Elephant Hawkmoth, certainly a Hawkmoth.

Re: What's that Bug

We had them in our villa twice recently. Large moth with weirdly spikey legs. The caterpillars are huge and bright green. They dine on oleander and also seem keen on grapevine.
