European Green Toad

Found this beauty having a swim in my pool this morning. Had to take a photo before it went on its way.

He/she is a beauty......we have one that lives amongst our banana trees by the outdoor shower. Last year ours had babies and they were as big as my thumb nail...so cute hopping around. Our dogs and cats never seem to bother them. Essie

Lucky you my sister loves frogs and toads but do they survive air freight?

Re: European Green Toad

We had loads of frogs/toads last year (22 in the pool when we cleaned it!) in and around the pool, most of them were we think tree frogs, really bright lime green in colour, but a few were similar to your photo. This year we emptied the pool over the winter and so far not one has appeared to take up residence, do you think we have scared them away?

The pool was probably empty at the time they were looking to breed and so they moved on.
Leave it full next year and they'll be back, Toads in particular are creatures of habit and will travel a long way to get back to their breeding ponds.
