Wit

Hi People,

I posted last year regarding the WIT meetings and set up. Well its going great guns, response has been fabulous and we have now formed a committee to help with the running of things so expect some lovely new ladies to TLF :-)

Mushtaq has been kind enough to give us our own page here so just a little bit below on what it is all about:

"WIT is not a feminist group and there will be no bras burning on the streets of Altinkum! Nor is it solely a social group for girly chats and get togethers. What it is is an information portal for all women both old and new to the area where they can find details of doctors, health clinics, dentists & childcare to name but a few.

When we arrive on these shores we unpack our hopes and dreams of a better life in the sun. What we leave behind are our local GP, our NHS our Well Women Clinic, our GUM clinic, our teenage advisory clinic, our freephone helplines, our local crèche, even for some people, the samaratins helpline. Things that were so easily taken care of in the UK become somewhat scary like taking a nice cold shower after a day on the beach and as we soap ourselves down we feel the pea sized lump in a breast....
."

So you get the idea?

Look forward to any comments, suggestions or questions and please GUYS, try and keep the jokes to a minimum! x

Re: Wit

Hi Kym
As a GUY I must admit the "as we soap ourselves down" bit did begin to stir me into some kind of comment.
The thing is you cant joke about breast cancer or any other kind so I will just say Well Done for taking the initiative.
I think one of the things that must concern anybody the most is leaving the clinics and medical help we are familiar with daily in the UK.
For an estate agent you are pretty damn good!!!

Hi Kym

I was in the English Rose when you last had a meeting but I was too shy to say anything..... I have since spoken to Theresa and she will keep me informed. Unfortunately unable to make the Feb meeting but will be able to make March meetings onwards.

Hi Kym, well I for one think it is a great idea and I know you cover lots of topics and answer so many questions and queries at these meetings and I can't wait to get the chance to go to my first WIT meeting.

Question 1. What date in Feb is next meeting?

Question 2. Will these be held on a monthly basis?

Question 3. Are they held during the day or in the evenings? As you know we live in Akbuk and I believe the Dolmus doesn't run in the evenings out of season.

Hi Kym

It's good to see that there is page on here for WIT. We're coming to live permanently in July, so I look forward to coming along then to meet you and the other people.

Take care.

Thanks for responding. I am at present in UK for grandsons' birthdays (21st Jan and 7th March) so will be back out again on 10th March so will be logging on for all the news.

Thanks again.
