Re: WİT Business
Jeannie,
I think the homes built by the seaside have this problem only...Cause the homes in Izmir dont seem to, neither the ones in istanbul that i know of. But in bodrum, kusadsi, cesme....they alll have that problem. It musthave something to do with the humidity in the air, but I am not sure exactly...
No-nem should be along soon to give you a better answer.....

A lot of the older houses similar to here in Spain are built directly on the soil and have no damp proof course. Hence water will penitrate and rise up into the wall from ground level.
In most cases when renovating an old house it is a good idea to insert a damp proof course or all your hard work in renovating will go to waste as damp will return.

Re: WİT Business
Hi Kym would like to add my congrats to the success of your efforts. I know how much work and patience is needed to organise such things.. I set up an International Womens Group in Alanya ooooooooo 9/10yrs ago. I have not been actively involved with them for a number of years due to work pressure but it is nice to see it is still functioning and raising funds to aid the village schools and animal rescue here.
Long may your Women in Turkey go forward..
