New Drains
When we where out in January the road up from the market and round by Sea Med palms was being laid with new sewerage drains the roads where in quite a mess.
Any one been out recently, or is a resident and can advise on the current situation.

Re: New Drains
I'm in the UK at the moment and have been for a week. Before leaving Yalikavak it was diabolical on the roads! It takes a lot longer to get home by car, and more expensive with taxis because each road they take seems to be blocked (with no warning) and another route has to be taken, until, eventually you can get home! I had a really nasty fall on one of the roads at night. Just hope they get it all finished before the start of the season!!! I have heard that in about 4 weeks time works will be in progress to tidy up the mess they've made of the roads! - Time will tell!

Re: New Drains
Not sure if the road works were drains or telecomms but they have certainly made a mess everywhere in the village.
From the garden centre opposite Doruk bakery down past Sea Med and Mai sitesi the road is reduced to a single bumpy track and there is one place where the "manhole" cover is at least 18 inches higher than the road surface. They do put gravel down but the rain has washed some of it away so the ruts are still there.
Up from the market along the back road out of the village towards Garanti bank it has been slightly improved because the worst ruts have been tarmacked over.
From the market the other way it looks bad (as Sue says).
But we have also been told that they will be putting it all back to rights within the next month. Let's hope so!
