Help - How to get rid of mould
Hi, does anyone have any tips for getting rid of mould on curtains. Just wondered if anyone had a miracle solution to wash curtains in to get rid of mould that has been caused by condensation on inside of windows. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Help - How to get rid of mould
Hi Sally
Just looked in my handy hints book how to get rid of mould, it says to dampen the mark with salt and lemon juice and let it sit in the sun.
hope this helps you.

Re: Help - How to get rid of mould
Sorry not much help........I bought a 'branded' mould remover once for curtain fabrics and it did absolutely nothing. So dont waste your money on one of those.
Never had any success with this problem and would love to know the answer myself.

Re: Help - How to get rid of mould
Hi Sally
I notice that I am a bit late with my answer, but vinegar sure does the trick, we had damp mould on our walls after first year, and used it for this, not had any probs since, also leave a tray of salt in each room when we are away, and have also put in air vents, no probs last 2 years.
Cheers Peter

Hi Peter. You say you havnt had a problem since. ? Is it neat vinegar you put on the walls?? I guess that whiffs a bit!. This winter has supposedly been the worst for a while. All the apartments on our complex have had damp and mould problems.Luckilly the builder is doing remedials because they are still on site. Ive heard that Salt one before ,but i guess you have to keep renewing the bowls as they go hard?.

Re: Help - How to get rid of mould
Hi P & M
Mixed it half n half with water, wiped over all surfaces till mould was gone, some bits tougher than others, black bits engrained into the walls, then washed down with hot water.
Tears streaming from the eyes, sweat pouring off me, done this when 100 degrees, had to stop every 20 mins or so for 10mins, but very pleased with results, as I mentioned this was 2 years ago, and we had to do every room cept the kitchen, I think the air vents help a lot also.
Re salt, we have used the same salt for last 2 years, not had any hardening that I know of.
I heard last Sat night that it has been very cold, Hakan (of Sonya,s cafe) said last Monday, was the coldest day that he has ever experienced in Altinkum, he keeps his eye to our house, my friend Colin is his adopted father.
Cheers Peter
