Help! HSBC
After 3 tries I finally set up internet banking with HSBC Turkey ( so many numbers to put in)
Now I want to transfer funds from my uk account to the turkish one.
I have the Iban number but can't work out from the turkish paying in book what other number I need, can anyone tell me where on the card the number I need is?
Is it HESAP NO or HESAP SAHIBI or CUZDAN NO ?
I would hate my money to end up in the wrong bank account

Re: Help! HSBC
you need the hesap no
but did you set up for internet banking when you were in turkey? there are two other codes that you will need.....
Usually, you have to set up for telephone banking, and go thru the hoops, then they give you the codes after that is set up.
Good luck

It may save some problems..

Re: Help! HSBC
Did they tell you that you could do this ? When I set up my telephone Banking with HSBC Turkey and afterwards internet Banking it was ok. My UK. HSBC told me that I could not Transfer Cash via Internet Banking to overseas accounts due to money laundring. I then had to set up a Fax Transfer which has worked without a problem ever since. That was 5 years ago so maybe things have changed in the UK.

Re: Help! HSBC
you will probably only need the iban no and the swift code..
your iban no consists of your unique account no and sort code..
as of jan 08, all international transfers cannot be done with out using Iban numbers..

Re: Help! HSBC
Thanks for the info.
I did get codes when I was in Turkey but I did not get around to doing anything with them for ages and did not know what the turkish words were.
I have been through the loops on the phone and they gave me the iban but I didnt know which of the many other numbers I need!
Pebble is the Hesap the swift code?
Thanks again x

Re: Help! HSBC
This is all very interesting to me as I have recently purchased a small appartment in Turkey and I am hoping to become a regular visitor. I was intending to set up a Turkish Bank Account when I am next over and was also hoping to offset annnual maintenance costs on the property through any accrued interest in the bank. To cut to the chase - What are the current interest rates in an HSBC Account and is it easy enough to open or are there restrictions.
