Dolmus Service Yali-Gumuskaya

We were over in March and winter dolmus service between Yali and Gumuskaya was infrequent (if at all it existed). Does anyone know if there is a summer service and the frequency, or a clue to where to find out.
We are looking forward to our next visit in early June and undecided whether to hire a car.

Thanks

Frank

Hi Frank, take a look in the Gundogan Forum there was a thread about a new service fron Gundogan to Yali that went on to Gumusluk and Turgutreis. It would be interesting to know if its going ok and its frequency. There is also the white dolmus that seens to go every couple of hours from Yali bus station to Gumuskaya.

yes its running ,our friends went on it last week from yali to turget .3.25 ytl they said it was great and the views on the way [past gumusluk ]was awesome . i think it goes all the way from turg to gundogan via gumu and yali . i think it stops at 6 pm and starts at 8 am but of course that may alter .

Re: Dolmus Service Yali-Gumuskaya

hi Frank

We haven't hired a car once and we've been to our place in Yalikavak five times now. We use the dolmus and taxi's. The council run dolmus leaves Yalikavak centre on the even hour and turns at the big Gumuskaya sitse, but there is another little one than does the run also, we haven't sussed the timetable for that one (I'd love to know it).

Recently we have visited Turgutreis a lot more because the dolmus to there is so easy and the last one leaves around 3am, they usually go way past the last stop and drop us outside our complex.

We have been astounded by the increase in taxi prices - it used to be 13-15 lira from Yalikavak to our home last week it had rised to 25!!!! We probably won't hire a car in response, any thoughts of that were dispelled by the sight of a car under a dumper truck on our way into Yalikavak, and the huge ditch in the road. We will probably visit Turgutres more often as it's easier to get to - and home from.

We are near the border so it's not far to walk to the Gumusluk dolmus - if you are near there i'd recommend this option

Hi Frank and Mary. Hope you are well ! Was a nice surprise you popping into our office on your last visit over here.Hope to see you again.
Yes SUNSEEKER is correct there is a new bus service from Gundogan to Turgutreis and visa versa. I keep threatening to try it out but havent had time yet. Might try it to Yali on Saturday night and leave the car at home so I can have a drink.
Hi RED Hope you and family are well. Was lovely to see you all last week.
Taxi prices reflect price of petrol over here. More expensive than in UK.

Try bartering with them.......
Over the last few weeks various clients have got taxi from Bodrum to Gundogan........
Nice average couple paid 75 ytl
5 pretty girls paid 55 ytl
2 very drunk Irish guys..........100 euros !!!!

Re: Dolmus Service Yali-Gumuskaya

I finally tried out the new dolmus route last Saturday night with 6 friends.
Had a lovely little trip into Yalikavak for a night out.
Small problem at the moment is the last one is 18.15 from Gundogan to Yalikavak so had to get 2 taxis back.
Was a nice change being able to have a drink and not be the designated driver !
Think it will be a popular dolmus route.........
