To most people, including myself, I consider that to be at the top end of the scale but the main question I will be asking is just what are our maintenence fees offering over and above anyone else's if the fees are so high.
I like the idea of a night watchman, the grass cut etc, but god forbid that they don't offer a service absolutely second to none, because then I will be raising certain questions and asking for a break down of what I am getting for my money- that generally prompts people into some sort of action.

best of luck mushroom we have been requesting this information from day one our treasurer has requested the audited accounts and they have neve come forth. our chairman has requested to get a copy for the committee to see and still they have never been produced i think its a me no understand case
but i would be very interested in your outcome as the things we have paid for have never been visible.now people are saying there not going to pay and they wonder why

Re: How much are your maintenance charges??

Thank you to everyone for their responses. The prospect of our fees increasing in June from £82 horrifies us. We wouldnt mind paying the price for good service but ... having never seen any accounts we cant see where the money goes. Our 24 hour security is in fact one member of staff who sleeps in a small "shed" at the bottom of the access road and who hopefully would wake up if he heard anyone about. Better than no-one on site at all but I understand that wages for such staff are a pittance. Thank you all again for your prompt responses.

Sorry to hijack this thread - but - it certainly didn't prompt No-nem into any sort of action!! Well, not of the right kind, anyway.

Re: How much are your maintenance charges??

I would say in all honesty that if we had to pay £83 a month for maintenance on the basis of our 2 trips a year say 4 weeks to Fethiye,it would not be practical or affordable for us at all.
I am becoming more relieved by the minute that we have a modest apartment on a small complex.
Some of these £80 plus charges are frightening for larger accommodation and villas. How many of us can afford to pay a grand every year for a holiday home we only visit for a few weeks?
Our free contract finishes in 2 years and if if a new contract worked out anything like that,we would have to reassess the financial worth of keeping it long term.

Ah Carolk
Thats better!!! at 30ytl a month!!
Our complex is same size as yours.
Thanks

Re: How much are your maintenance charges??

Thanks for the info Sandra, we are in Yalikavak, only have 1 comunial pool.
Some of the villas have thier own pool but they pay more for thier maintenance.
Oroginally the maint was £70 including a free shuttle bus from site. But then they put it up to £75 and told us thier will be NO bus, now its £82.50. This has all happened since last October!. Where about is your complex!.
Thanks

My maintenance is 175.00 for the year, 15.00 per month. This is for the pool cleaning, gardening and general cleaning of the stairs etc. There were people moaning about this in Altinkum, maybe they should read this thread!!!!!!!!

Well we only pay 100ytl per month, maybe going up in June by about another 20 ytl so we heard on the grapevine. There are about 100 houses some with there own pools, a large communial pool. 24 hour security supposedly, but when we arrive early hours in the morning they are always asleep. Its ok in the summer but in the winter they do not seem to do anyhing.

The money some of you are paying is scarey! We live on a complex of 35 apartments, 10 of which are foreign-owned. We pay 100ytl per month for live-in caretaker, pool & garden maintenance and communal electric. We certainly don't have a Management Company. These are not compulsory.
