Thumbs up Boat trip

Just thought I would let anyone know, if you were thinking about a boat trip, then Fediee in Yalikavak is your man. We had a wonderfull day out on his boat, and the food his mum made was fantastic. It was so good that we asked her to come to the villa we had rented later that week to cook for us. Our friends who were staying a little longer than us, had another trip with him and mama again later in the holiday and once again gave full marks. 10/10

Re: Boat trip

What is the name of the boat Ryan? Whereabouts is it moored and what sort of prices are they charging for a day out?

Hello Ken and Deryle - The name of the boat is the Sandima. You will find it at the old marina, centre of Yalikavak (not far from Cumbali and the cafe) and she is usually the first or second boat along. Ask Carlos, who is usually sat outside during the day or someone at Cumbali (just ask for Fediee or Carlos). Prices are around £20. You can either go as individuals or hire privately. Hope this helps.

We have been back from Yalikavak for a week today and missing it already. Whilst there we priced the trip on the Sandima and it was 50YTL per person. We opted not to go on the trip this time as we had 4 teenagers with us but will maybe try it next time (hopefully at the end of August) when there will just be the two of us.

Thumbs up Re: Boat trip

we have had a boat trip with fediee & his anne for the past 6 years sometimes as individuals but we have also used him a few times with friends for a days private hire & must agree the cooking has always been fantastic & we have left the boat feeling we did not need to eat again for days. if you are looking for a great day out this is the one, highly reccomended

Hi Ryan,I'd wondered if it was the Sandima with you talking about his mum and the excellent food. We actually had 2 boat trips on our recent holiday. The Sandima the 1st week(we knew him as Phil though) and The Simge the 2nd week. I agree totally about the food and the same quality also applies on the Simge(which we have been going on for about the last 4years) You have to really hold out for a decent price with Carlos though if you want the boat privately. From talking to the boat owners we get the impression that they are not entirely happy with the co-operative. It's a wonderful day out.

Re: Boat trip

I find all the boat trips from Yalikavak are excellent - with great food- but i am sad that the prices have gone up so much - 50 ytl is a little steep when you can get a trip from Bodrum or Bitez for only 25 ytl and that includes being picked up and returned to your hotel / villa
Yes the co operative is causing concern for the boat owners and has done for the past 3 years
Carlos is just a ticket seller - if you want a good price for a private trip then negociate with the boat owners themselves

Re: Boat trip

Could not agree more about the boat trip we have been loads of time with them and it is the best day ever. The food is great and it always has such a relaxed atmosphere I do not know why they do no get more and more business because it is really fantastic day out with them.

Me too - I've 4 teenagers and the thought of parting with 300ytl for a day out on a boat trip is just too much, but good luck to those that do and I hope you enjoy it.

What's all this about the co-operative. Do they set the boat prices?
