Re: Aegean Flights On sale
Just a warning to anyone trying to book with Aegean then getting error messages or session timed out message, check your emails, this is what happened to us last night ,we got right to the end of booking entering credit card details pressed to pay and got the session timed out message so you think oh no got to go right back to the start again then Hubby piped up before we do that we better check our emails after last years performance so check emails and sure enough we had a booking confirmation ,id forgotten about last year ,we ended up with about 17 sets of the same flights ,their system had gone mad ,we rang them and the girl said she couldnt understand how it could happen but then couldnt argue anymore as while we were on the phone to her more and more bookings were coming up in front of her on her screen, obviosly we were refunded.

Re: Aegean Flights On sale
It looks like the cheap seats have all gone now, when I looked at the prices yeasterday I didn't think the flights were cheap enough to warrant booking so far in advance (for me personally i mean), OK they were good prices but not like last year.

Re: Aegean Flights On sale
hi all
After checking the aegean website every day for the last fortnight, i was away from home in the lorry last night when freinds phoned home and told my wife about the flights been on sale for next summer.
Now its always been my job to book but chris did a brilliant job booked three pre arranged holidays, even though the prices are not as good as last year there not bad if you got in early enough.
just a couple of points,we are going for three weeks on one of the times next year and we are taking 2 freinds for our first week, their flight for one week cost exactly the same as our 21 day stay, and secondly tonight i checked all three holidays that we have booked and they would have cost in total £340 more, just 24hrs later.

What prices were you expecting Red?
We booked last year for £70 + £11 fuel surcharge - implemeted in the last 2 weeks. However, I can't find anywhere with a flight only that is now less than £250 for this summer.
We have just booked with Aegean for 2009 at £146 pp - now £169. Cheapest with TC or Thomsonfly is around £260 for 2009. I think this is a bl**dy bargain! - given the state of the airline industry at the moment.
With fuel surcharges, can you imagine what might happen to prices for flight only!
My recommendation is book now, unless you are prepared to gamble.
Personally, I think you will be looking to book flight only to Turkey next spring for Summer 2009, and seeing prices of maybe £3/400 return and then saying if only..........

Re: Aegean Flights On sale
Yeah - I understand exactly what you mean Luddenturk as I booked that same cheap deal- that's why I wrote the bit -for me personally. I'm still expecting a problem with my fights booked for this July after the palava a few people had on here with other cheap flights booked early, I'll believe the price when I fly on it
If the flights had been as cheap as last year I'd have booked loads of holidays in advance and took the risk balanced against family stuff/issues changing, i.e. we planned for our whole family coming out in Sept this year - then my daughter broke up with her long term boyfriend last month, oh and my son had a row with his girlfriend (now resolved) and my 12 year old had too much on to fit a second holiday in (in addition to our two week July hol ) - -----that's what I meant by mine own circumstances being too much to consider the savings offered this time as opposed to the daft prices on offer last year
In summary - I agree with you ----IF only I'd been able to solve me own dilemas AND timed it right with the offers on the 2nd - congrats to those who did.
