That road is called CAFER PASA. I didnt know it had moved, I just saw their sign still up the other day on the main road....
terrible thing to happen to these people. Wish people would be more careful.

Re: British Embassy
People expect too much from a (Hon.) Consul. It sounds as though they got a good service in getting repatriated. Surely they did not expect the British Taxpayer to pick up the tab, so it is reasonable to expect cash up front for passports and air fares - all probably reclaimable from insurance.
What did they want extra to that given?

Re: British Embassy
Nothing but praise for the way the consulate in Bodrum dealt with a recent break in. My parents were satying in my villa and had most of their personal belongings taken. The consulate insured they had temporary passports and airline tickets were arranged swiftly. Luckily they had the means to pay but the consulate would have issued a promisery note for payment once back in the UK. Well done!
sadly, i cannot say the same for the local Gendarma who frankly were useless and could not give a toot!! 13 of them trampled all over the evidence, did not take obvious finger prints on the window etc.they just treated the whole thing as a total inconvenience - Poor show when they should be trying to get to the bottom of the ever increasing amount of break ins!!
