From Dubai looking for a right area in Bodrum to buy

We are a Finnish Turkish family from Dubai looking to buy a summer house in Bodrum. Whilst we know Bodrum quite well as have visited several times with my Turkish husband, I would really appreciate advice from you who live there.

We have two children, 2 and 5 years old, and the idea is to live in Bodrum for July and August and my husband to come and go between Dubai and Bodrum. So we would like to find a nice social compound where there would be other families with children. Playgrounds etc. I also plan for the kids to do some hobbies there like football, riding and summer camps too and I know most of those activities are located in or around Ortakent, if I am correct. Gundogan is lovely and we have stayed there and Yalikavak a few times, I like to air being fresh and houses having lovely seaviews.

Where would you recommend to buy, are there areas I havent thought about. Anyone know of any nice compounds? For us a full seaview is a big part of the must haves. While my husband has been in touch with some agents, I thought maybe here I could get some ideas too, or perhaps someone knows of a nice compound. We will travel to Bodrum in November to hopfully buy then.

Re: From Dubai looking for a right area in Bodrum to buy

I live full time in Ortakent but 5km from the sea. Most of the area in Ortakent Yahsi is quite flat so the sea view is not too easy to find I know of several properties with a good view of the sea but they ere not cheap and I am not sure about the number of kids there. I am biased in favour of tbe beach at Yahshi because the sea there is in my opinion the best in the area. I'm on holiday at the moment but when I get back I will see if I can seek out the kids activities you mention. A useful piece of information would be their age

We have a holiday home in Turgutreis, quite a large working town with beautiful sea views. Lovely marina, playground and local square where lots of families seem to congregate in the evenings. Plenty of nice beaches within reach, including Yashi, Bitez, Akylar etc. Also within easy reach of Ortakent by car or dolmus. Good luck with your search.

Thank you for the replies. Our kids are 2 and 5 and for me also would love to form some friendships there. Anyone knows of any summer camps other that Ted Koleji? Just looking for options and ideas. Are there any schools that organise activities during summer in Turgutreis?

Please don't bring any more kids to TED Kolej, the noise and cars are driving me mad.
