If people are desperative for cash, they will say anything to get it, my name was also sold on to a network of absolute conmen by a so-called friend, and I lost about 5,000 in a boiler room scam with shares because of that. He got commission on the deal of course.
The worst is when they ring up and say .... hi, how are you .... bla bla and you notice the whole time they are on edge and working up to asking for money. The last time a friend did this to me I said no and ended the friendship immediately ... never forget, peoples husbands, children and families come first, so if they have borrowed money there as well, you will be at the end of the queue!!

I don't think it is only the turks, that is universal, it is only that I had bad luck meeting the wrong guys
