iskan amnesty

Our Tapu has our apartment as a depot. Has anyone had this changed under the iskan amnesty, if so how did you go about it and what did it cost? Someone has 'offered' to sort this out for a fee of 300.

Re: iskan amnesty

LEGALISING AN ILLEGAL EXTENSION TO A PROPERTY.
You can apply for retrospective planning assent for any changes made to properties, eg glassing in balconies, swimming pools, garages, using areas specified on plan as depots as living spaces etc.

The new law serves an opportunity to the property owners, to register their illegal parts of the properties as legal. If a property has an illegal construction part in its own land, those parts can be registered as legal by a documents called YAPI KAYIT BELGESI . Then those parts will be registered as legal.
According to that document, the previous penalties in money and any court cases will be processless.

HOW TO REGISTER
STEP 1: You need to deal with a map engineer..approx. 1500tl
STEP 2 : The illegal parts of the property are needed to be calculated
STEP 3: The registration will be done on the e devlet system with photos.
STEP 4 :After payment is made, the document called YAPI KAYIT BELGESİ can then be obtained.

The process is basically the same as applying for an iskan.

1800tl doesn't sound too bad for someone to make this application for you.. Bear in mind on top of this you'll have about 1500tl to pay for the Belediye 'mapping men' to come out and inspect & measure + the tax payable , which will depend on the size of the 'illegal' portion of the property. This alone may be around 5000tl.

Depot could signify anything, even heard say it construed to be an earthquake shelter.
If someone offers to get that changed to living abode & the offer is genuine, I would suggest you take it.
I will say this Kalkan, I remember someone getting it done in Didim & the woman used to be a member on here, lived in Ireland. Obviously involves the Beledye & the Tapu Office.
You will have a problem if ever you go to sell, unless you get it changed.

Re: iskan amnesty

I suggest that you do not pay anything until the application is made, and maybe offer half as much on top of the 300 if it is successful.

I remember on TLF a long time ago a warning not to buy if Tapu said Depot as Depot meant storage ,but some builders were turning it into living area and selling like that.

There was a builder called Tavvaci ( I think)doing it in Didim, you can get it changed but cant remember how we done it.

Hope this amnesty works for all, Brits & Turks alike, it never was just a "foreigners problem"

Re: iskan amnesty

Yes it does. Visit your local tapu or imar office and get it registered first, they will send someone to measure it and any other structures. The tapu office will then issue you with a new tapu. Once you have done this you can then apply for an iskan you will pay by the square area which is not a fortune. Good luck.

We have a copy of the original plans with all the measurements on so we are hoping this will assist the process
