Yes I experienced that many years ago and luckily for me in those way back days my French language skills were pretty good. Thanks to my French school teacher.
When I bought in Turkey years ago I decided it was best to learn the language and all these years on I'm still learning. But at least I can more than just get by. It's a very difficult language.

After your nine encouraging posts it's hardly surprising.

Yes it will cost money but surely its the best insurance you can have against something awful happening.
You make a valid point here Chasey but to get citizenship via investment the OP needs $250 000 to be invested in Turkey for a minimum of 5 years.

Spot on IA.

I was caught in the middle of a coup in Monrovia – found my way to the British Embassy/Consulate and found they had chained the gates and flown the nest!

We were in Togo during a period of huge unrest. NO UK representaion but they promised to send the British high Commissioner from neighbouring Ghana. All the Brits gathered at the designated time and place (local pub), he never turned up he was turned away at the border as he had forgotten his passport.

Re: Citizenship to foreigners

Among over 150 countries around the world, Turkey is the seventh-best place for expatriates to live and work, according to a new survey.

More than 18,000 expats living in 163 countries were surveyed on their adopted countries' cultural, political, economic conditions by HSBC bank's Expat Explorer Report, said a statement by Turkey's Communications Directorate.

Re: Turkish Citizenship to foreigners

Yes it suits me too. Not perfect but on balance no worse than Britain... leaving aside the issue of bacon.
