Re: Television
Hello there Fullers !
Having read your post I would just make a couple of observations. You have mentioned that you are on a complex, but you haven't said how big the complex is. I assume it is big enough to require a management plan ( over 8 properties on the complex as a whole .)
If it does, then you might have a management plan - like a code of conduct for the site. Often this has restrictions - stopping people painting their place blue with pink stripes , that sort of thing. You do mention a contract, but not a plan. If you have a plan, it might already have restrictions in place about keeping the appearence of the property . This might have an impact on your intentions about sat. dishes.
Interestingly, you mention placing the dishes on the roof. Often the roof is the property of the top flat, and sold as an exclusive area to that property. Are you sure you are entitled to place the dish on the roof ?
Approach your site residents committee and take their perspective on it ? Could it be the the majority of residents favour communal dishes to keep the appearence of the property more modest ? Are you unwittingly turning a neighbours private property into a depot for nasa ??
Residents committees have set times for voting and raising issues , as defined by property law in turkey. You might have some redress via this route. Check first via the site baskan, that you where allowed to put the dish up in the first place.
Whilst I realise you are miffed at what has happened, you do still have access to the service, and the complex won't have quite so many dishes on it. Is this really an issue that you want to fall out with your neighbours about ? Could it be that the majority of residents are opposed to what you have done - which is why management have acted ?
Good luck
MR TURKEY

Re: Television
Sorry, obviously did not make ourselves very clear. No residents committee, no management plan and not very many neighbours yet! We are in Yasmin Gardens, first phase, Yakamoz, completed September, 2006. The management had no plan for a communal dish when we asked in January and had only been considering DigiTurk. If you did not want DigiTurk it was left up to owners to decide what to do. Other people have already paid for their own dishes to be installed.

Re: Television
Hi Fullers
It seems that Yasmin Gardens policy is to change things, or re-change things Im not surprised that they are now setting rules down without contacting the home owners it is a very hap hazard way of working and I feel very sorry for the people who have bought their own dishes.
We have had no word of this but we are in Orkide which is second phase. perhaps because of where the site is we have to have communal as I know we have been refused planning permission for a window because the roof consistency has to be the same at our location. I feel sorry for Robert and I thought he would have been told helping out in the offices.

Re: Television
Hello the Fullers (are you our friends Doug and Cherie?),
We are at Bill and Hilary 1c Yakamos. When we first bought our apartment we were specifically told by Darlene of Ephesus Homes that strickly no pets are allowed nor would any resident to allowed individual T V ariels, only a communal dish would be permitted. Frankly, we think this a very good idea, or there might be eight ariels per block - not a pretty sight. We will be very happy to participate in this arrangement although we do not really wish to use the T V just DVDs that we will bring out from home, just to use on a rainy night in, hopefully not too many of those !! However, its bad luck for those who have already bought a dish, especially Robert and Chris who live there full time and watch the telly quite a lot. Anyway, what ever happens, Bill and I will go with the the flo !! Once everything is complete perhaps we should think about getting together a residents committee as per Mr Turkey's suggestion. Cheers, looking forward to seeing you all when we visit in mid September. Hilary and Bill.

Re: Television
Yes, we are your friends Cherie and Doug. We are hoping to see you in September when you are at Yakamoz. We will have to await developments re television dish. We only wanted a news channel, not having time to watch anything else, what with meals out with new friends and B.B.Qs cooked by our friend Bill! You will be pleased to know that the seeding of the grass was beginning to take place as we left. The small bar was just being stocked with soft drinks. Hopefully all will be well when we arrive early September. Looking forward to seeing your lovely apartment again. Love to you both

Re: Television
Hello again Fullers
When you go out in September you could try to get your money back for the dish you have bought you never know they might compensate you if you say you were not told. Bill is right about the look of the appartments looking better without so many dishes - do you know if there will be any English channels - I am not very educated on TV and such like.
We are out in September, but unfortunately our duplex is not ready until December but hopefully we will have chance to meet up - if thats ok with you.
Take care

Re: Television
Hello Mo, Thank you for your interest. On the dish we got we had 9 English Channels, but there could be more as we have not looked.
We will be around from 3rd September for 4 weeks. See you there?
Regards Doug and Cherie

Re: Television
That's great Doug and Cherie. We are coming out on the 23rd September for four weeks as well, and Steve and Maria will also be out at approx. the same time as you. So we will have at least a week together to fit in a few of those great BBQ evenings together. We are counting the days already. Can't wait!! Regards, Bill and Hilary.

Re: Television
Hi Doug and Cherie
Will look forward to meeting you, we will give you a knock when we are out there and perhaps if your not busy we could go for meal etc or if you are busy we could arrange to meet up later - is that ok with you.
We are looking forward to seeing our duplex - we have had some problems but I think they are getting themselves sorted out. The big problem with the builders is I think that they have changed site managers etc and the work backloged, also communication is not very good at the best of times, and they do keep changing their minds they keep changing their mind over what facility they are putting under which block in Orkide and Olivier and have upset quite a few customers. It will look good though and hopefully go up in value very quickly
