Just back from Akbuk

Hi to all Yasminites
Well I've just had a fantastic two weeks in Yasmin gardens. the grass is still not quite up yet but its not from lack of hard word on Ahamet ( the mantainance man)who spends most afternoons watering it and checking on the pool. Had a problem or two with the plumbing in my sisters apt (shes B7 and Im B6) but they sorted it immediately. Robert is a great help. Anyway Akbuk is changing by the day and I have to say it was a fantastic holiday. The second phase ( Orchid ) I think, Where Mo is should be finished early according to the powers above,! but they are working flat out from dawn to dusk so it was hard to get in to have a look. Doug and Cherie, I had a good few days with Serena and Ian and the kids and it was a pleasure to meet them. Well I hope you all enjoy yourselves when you head out. I wont get out again till October and I think it will never come. ( Im only back since yesterday)

Carol, when you say Akbuk is changing by the day, in what way; do you think for the better?
Do you think it's going to be spoiled by overbuilding?
Or is that just progress?
I'd love to hear YOUR opinion.
Mel (and Anne)

No Mel I dont think it will ever be spoilt. Sure enough Tansas has opened and a few extra shops in the village. I just meant that since I was there in May I could see a hugh difference. Its still quaint and rural ( for lack of a better word) I dont think it would ever be as commercialised as Altinkum. A few extra shops wont ruin the rustic appeal but it will provide services for the ever increasing amount of people who are moving there. If anything I think it gets better every time I go there.

Thanks for your interesting reply.
It's just that were we bought (Kumkent Site) we now have Tansas at the bottom.
It IS handy, but the large amount of cars the store now generates spoils that area a little bit for me and my wife. We did prefer the village feel of just the Yelcin Store opposite.
We hope that store doesn't disappear now.
Having said all that, I DO think Akbuk itself is wonderful and can't wait to return in September.

Hi Carol, Serena, Ian, Maisie and Maddie had a wonderful holiday, but unfortunately will not be able to visist again until 2009. Her brother Richard is now living out in America and Serena and the family will be visiting him next year. We, however, will be arriving on 3rd September for 4 weeks and can't wait, especially with the weather we have been getting. It seems that quite a few people have been having trouble with the plumbing. Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Hi Cherie and Doug.
Im glad they all had a great holiday. The plumbing was a bit of a problem as was the power cuts however they didnt dampen the holiday at all. We had a great time. Hopefully we will get back early October however my sister will be out in September. Im also missing the sunshine as we've only had one good day since we came home. Say hello to Serena, Ian and the children. It was lovely to meet them. Take care and talk soon

Hi seems you all have a good time in Akbuk! I have been there only once myself but I loved it and would consider buying there.
One question: was it not too hot out there? How many degrees have you had this summer and is there any breeze?

Thanks!
