Electricity Charges
Hello all..
We are currently visiting our appartment at yakomoz, all of us here at the compex have recieved letters from the complex stating that we are now currently to pay for electricity & water whilst we are staying here, we are just wondering if anyone at home in the uk have recieved any letters or emails regarding this.
Were having a lovely time, it's nice to catch up & get to know new people, the sunsets are beautiful

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Margaret, I havent received any correspondance from Yasmin gardens regarding water or electricity charges. When we were there in July we had constant power cuts and water shortages. I hope that has all changed. Im also in Yakamoz and would love to be there right now. Hope you are enjoying yourself. My sister is heading out on Sunday 23rd. Shes B7 yakamoz and Im B6. Hopefully we'll will all meet up sometime. Hows the complex looking?

Re: Electricity Charges
Hello Carol
Thanks for your reply, Just to let you know that all the residents that are here,we do not agree to the charges given, as £15 p/w electricity charges & then a seperate water charge for the time we have spent at our appartments. On tuesday the residents that are here are having a small meeting regaurding this issue we dont mind paying if its the case, but we feel also that as we are not on full power, we have a lot of power cuts due to builders working & so on, and there not being much water & the various snags & problems thats that the majority of us have had with our appartments. We also havent recieved our deeds as the site is not finished but they claim that yakamoz is finnished?? (even though its not fully working yet, no grass, no facilities..) Once we have had the meeting and decided what is to be said the men will then go to the office to put it across to them, we will keep you posted, and look forward to meeting your sister when she arrives, hopefully meet you some time soon.

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Margaret
Well my sister Ann is on the plane about now and I must say I really wish i was there too. I think we may have met when we were over in May. Im trying to remember which is C3. Were you there in May or July? Anyway £15 per week is very expensive for electricity especially with all the power cuts we had in July. If you get a chance knock up to Ann and Paddy in B7 and make sure they go to the meeting. Friends of mine have a place in kusadassi and have assured me that the electricity and water is very cheap. I think the builder is trying to chance his arm, when I think of July and there was days when some of our kids ( and you know what teenagers are like when their going out) had to take a shower at the pool. I dont think they'd have been brave enough to try and charge me for the water, or the elec. Anyway I hope all this wont ruin your holiday. Take care and I wish I could be there to speak my mind. Thanks for keeping in touch. Bye for now.

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Margaret
Why have Yakamoz not got their own electricity meters, When we complete in December I think we will have meters or at least I remember being told that something will be read and put in our own names?
I think it is a good idea to form a residence group, i have read about some other problems which can occur on complex's and indeed one of these is the Yasmin complex in Altinkum, there are concerns going back to 2005 and the way the site manager deals with these problems is not very good. For instance they are all still waiting for TAPU and the site is not finished off and they are complaining about site costs etc. Also it seems when some complex members do not pay their amenities the pool does not get filled so they all suffer - I know its nothing to do with electric but I thought you all might want to have a read so i have put in the link to Absolutely Altinkum and hope this is ok with Mustak and hope the link works
Good luck in your meeting please keep us updated

Re: Electricity Charges
I'm presuming that Yakamoz is on Şantiye electric (building site electric) but every apartment should still have a separate meter to calculate each individual owner's useage.
Şantiye electric is around 50% more expensive than TEDAŞ electric. Our complex is still not connected to TEDAŞ after 2 years and our electric averages around 60 pounds per month; this is with the water heater on 24/7 and air-conditioning (which isnt on all the time).
How is your water charges calculated?

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Alison
Our site is not finished until December so I dont know who our electric will be off. Why are you still on Builders electric (Şantiye) after 2 years - I am wondering why you have not swopped over to TEDAŞ it being 50% cheaper, or can we not swop around in Turkey. £60 per month seems a lot even with a water heater do you live constantly at your appartment ?
I will try to find out how the water is calculated but someone else from the 1st phase should be able to supply a answer, but thank you very much for bringing our attention to the different charges I will certainly try to find out before we complete who we will be getting our electric from.

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Mo
Yes we live in our apartment all the time and with air-con in every room, the water heater never off and 3 kids (washing machine on permanently) I expect our electric to be a bit higher but still hate paying over the odds.
We have asked our builder numerous tımes to sort out getting the complex transferred over to TEDAŞ but we still havent got our Habitation Certs.

Re: Electricity Charges
Oh so you need a habitation certificate before you can change over to the cheaper rate. I would be anoyed at paying more that necessary is there no way you can apply for habitation cert and get your elect change without your builder being involved?
bye the way is your site finished?

Re: Electricity Charges
Hi Mo
Hope you had a good time over there. Hows your apartment looking. I was talking to Paddy and Anne tonight and they all had a meeting with the management at the complex. From what I gather there was bills in all their apartments calculating how much water and elec they have used to date since getting our keys. It was approx £60 and £80 for water and elec depending on how many weeks you'd been there. I was annoyed when I heard this as we had more water and power cuts in July than anything else. Most days it lasted hours. They also are talking about backdating our site fees to when we got our keys. Now personally I have a problem with that as the place was like a building site up until July and then it was constantly mucky. however they are going to come back to the residents that are over there now with an amended figure. Paddy also mentioned ( the line was bad so I could only pick up a bit here and there)that they have got planning to put verandas in the front bedrooms of the new duplex apts and that maybe for a cost ( of COurse)we could have that done next year. So far thats all the news. I hope your holiday went well and I'll email you when I hear anything more.
