Hello Again and Update
As promised, an update from our recent trip to Yasmin Gardens 20-22 Feb 08. The site is really taking shape and there was a noticable difference since I was last there 4 weeks ago. The pool at Olivia/Orkide is now almost complete and has been filled, tested and drained in the last week and work was progressing on the Turkish bath and sauna underneath the pool. Work has also begun on Napolyon and is also progressing well on Tekila and Papatya. We met up with Lynn and Julie and had a good chat and pooled our knowledge and also had a coffee with Darlene and Wayne, who were as ever, so helpful. We went to Akbuk market on Friday looking for bedding and met Idris who was very helpful and spoke excellent English. He has a home textiles shop in Akbuk called Curtain Perde. We managed to get all our duvets, sheets and pillowcases from him at a very reasonable price. We ate out twice in Akbuk, at the Garden Restaurant and at Camli Fish Restaurant; both were excellent meals and very good value. We are both back out in April with our children for our first family holiday at Yasmin and can't wait to go back. (I have tried to attach some photographs but a single one exceeds the memory capacity on this site - if anyone can suggest what I need to do to attach them I would be grateful).

Re: Hello Again and Update
Hi - we are going out to Akbuk in March to furnish our villa. As the shop you mention is in Akbuk it would appear to be favourite for the bedding, etc. Where is the shop please? You did not mention whether you bought curtains from Idris. Does his shop measure up, make and fit curtains? This would also be very useful as he is on the spot so to speak. Maisie

Re: Hello Again and Update
Hi Maisie
The shop is in the centre of Akbuk on the left hand side as you drive from Yasmin Gardens. We already had our curtains, but he will come out and measure and then make and fit the curtains. I should speak to him about getting a percentage He is also making some duvet covers in the same material as the sheets which we will pick up in April.
Hope that this helps
Ian

Re: Hello Again and Update
Hi again, what date are you going out in april? We're having our first family holiday out there on 1st april for a week. Unfortunately when I booked it didn't click in my head that the pool won't be filled until the beginning of may! However we have a friend who lives in Akbuk who is going to find out for us if there are any other pools available, fingers crossed! Hope the sea isn't too cold as we have 3 kids aged between 4 and 13 to keep entertained! Regards, Barbara

Re: Hello Again and Update
Hi Connor - we have also bought a villa on Manolya. We will be there from 7-18 April. Hope to meet you if you are still there then. It is a shame that the pools won't be filled until the 1st May. Maybe for next year we can negotiate to have them filled for the start of the Easter school holidays - it may cost us slightly more in maintenance fees but would be worth it - what do other Yasminers think?

Re: Hello Again and Update
It sounds as though you had a good time Ian, did you get curtains from Idris, we got bedding from him from Akbuk market but I found his curtain prices a bit expensive, although buying curtains is one of the expenisve items. We got ours from Soke but I have been told there is a good shop off the Attaturk road, a side road from Ocilik shop they are also mentioned a few times on this forum and have a good reputation. I have to curtain the A shaped windows in March so I will be giving them a try.
Shame about the pictures, if you want me to have a go in putting them on I will, I had to shrink mine down in size so it might work on yours - send them to my private email.
Anyone out in March we are out 18-25, Jaqui is out there around that time too.

Re: Hello Again and Update
Hi Missmo - we are out 17th to 24th March. We won't be at our villa though as there is no furniture yet! We are hoping to do great things during this week however, and will be back again on 2nd July to stay for two weeks in the villa, with (we hope) at least the basic furniture in. The March week is also for legal things, signing final papers, water and electric transfer, standing orders at the bank, etc. etc.
In March we will be in an apartment in Altinkum provided by our developer. No idea where it is, he is meeting us and taking us there. Maisie

Hi Maisie
You will find you can do great things the paperwork etc will be done very quickly, and as soon as you buy furniture it will be delivered. We went out December, done the signing thing 1st day, 2nd day had the place snagged and cleaned, 3rd day went shopping had stuff delivered and we then moved int the next day of course we still shoped but we got the place virtually done. We are out same time as you I will pm you my appartment and we could meet up eh.
